Despite the pandemic, China's foreign trade scale has grown against the trend, and the scale of emerging markets such as Southeast Asia has continued to increase. Recent data from China's General Administration of Customs shows that as of now in 2022, China's imports and exports with ASEAN have reached 3.53 trillion yuan, up 13.2% year-on-year, accounting for 15% of China's total foreign trade value. The RCEP continues to release policy dividends, further accelerating economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has surpassed the European Union and the United States to become China's larger trading partner. Among them, the economic and trade exchanges with the Philippines have performed commendably. China has become a major trading partner, a major source of imports, a major export market and a major source of foreign investment for the Philippines.
The Philippines is an important member of RECP and one of the ASEAN countries that enjoys both the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) of the United States and the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) of the European Union. This preferential policy enables more than two-thirds of the tax items to be completely exempt from tariffs. The Philippines has approved a series of regional free trade agreements to deepen regional economic integration, including China (ACFTA), South Korea (AKFTA), Australia - New Zealand (AANZFTA), Japan (AJCEPA), India (AIFTA) and Europe (EFTA). To promote the development of China-Philippines trade, our company will continue to organize this exhibition in October 2023.
