Recently, the Dutch Consumer Association released a new survey report, grocery prices are slowly falling. In the past six months, the average price has been 3% cheaper, but it is still 31% higher than two years ago.


The Consumers' Association investigated the lower prices of 120 basic products in 13 supermarket chains in the Netherlands. It is worth noting that the prices of fresh dairy products have fallen sharply, and other staples such as coffee, tea, rice and potatoes have also become cheaper; however, some products have also become more expensive in the past six months, and various sweets have increased in price due to high sugar prices.

Private label products emerged in developed Western countries and are now becoming increasingly popular around the world, especially in Europe and North America. "ACNielsen" surveyed 80 products in supermarkets in 36 countries, of which 17% were private label products.


In the UK, Germany, and Belgium, the market share of private label products has exceeded 40%, and in France and Spain it has exceeded 30%. In Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland, the market share is 20%, in Central and Eastern Europe it is 18%, and in North America, it is also over 20%. The market share of private label products in other parts of the world is also rising year by year.
