According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, the sales of 50 silk sample companies nationwide in 2023 were 3.729 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%, of which silk clothing sales were 428 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.24%.

E-commerce platform data show that the order volume of "new Chinese style" clothing in 2023 increased by 195% year-on-year, among which the order volume of Songjin jacket and Xiangyunsha clothing increased by 225% and 112% year-on-year respectively. The reporter found that due to the increase in the price of mulberry silk fabrics this year, the price of ready-made clothes has also increased to varying degrees.

Silk clothing sales are hot, and mulberry silk fabrics are also in short supply. Many companies are working at full capacity to speed up production.

Chinese clothing going overseas

Data shows that when searching for horse-faced skirts on relevant platforms, the number of related topics and short video playbacks exceeds 19.8 billion. On e-commerce platforms, the transaction volume of new Chinese-style clothing increased by 215% year-on-year. Recently, the UV of horse-faced skirts on e-commerce platforms has increased by more than 1,600% year-on-year.
