They show the number of visas applied for and issued for individual member states - there are even data, per consulate. Note that since Croatia will only join the Schengen area in 2023, the data for Croatia (along with Bulgaria, Cyprus and Romania) are shown on a separate table in the dataset. Ireland is not included, as it maintains a visa policy completely separate from the Schengen area.
