2. Market analysis

Kenya is located in eastern Africa, bordering Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, Ethiopia and South Sudan to the north, and the Indian Ocean to the southeast. It has a superior geographical location and is the trade transit center of East Africa. It is also the gateway and transportation hub of Africa. Its ports have strong trade radiation capacity for neighboring countries. Kenya is one of the countries with a good economic foundation in Africa. In the long run, Kenya's economic development trend is positive. The rapid economic development continues to promote Kenya's urbanization process, and the market potential is huge. In addition, Kenya's exchange rate is stable, there is no foreign exchange control, and the profits of foreign companies can be freely remitted in and out. As a natural and historical extension of the Maritime Silk Road, Kenya has become an important fulcrum of the "Belt and Road" initiative in Africa, and it is also the first stop for many Chinese companies to "enter Africa".

III. Exhibition Introduction

The Kenya International Industrial Exhibition is hosted by Africa Summit Exhibition (Kenya) Co., Ltd. It was first held in 2018 and has been successfully held for six sessions. With the strong support of relevant domestic and foreign institutions and the high recognition of domestic and foreign companies, the scale of the exhibition and the number of professional visitors have increased year by year. The exhibition has become an important way and platform for Chinese companies to explore the Kenyan and East African markets and for China-Africa two-way investment and trade exchanges.

The 6th Kenya International Industrial Exhibition 2023 was successfully held at the Sarit Convention Center in Nairobi from September 21st to 23rd. The exhibition received strong support from the Kenya Investment Authority, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce, the Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, Jiangxi Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Henan Provincial Department of Commerce, Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Linyi Mall, Narok County, Kiambu County and Muranga County governments. Pius Rotich of the Kenya Investment Authority, Ronald Meru, Chairman of the Foreign Economic Office of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce, Zeng Hui, Second Secretary of the Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, and the leaders of the Jiangxi, Henan and Shandong exhibition groups attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon. The exhibition attracted more than 200 enterprises from Shandong, Jiangxi, Henan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hebei and other regions in China to participate in the exhibition, with an exhibition area of more than 5,000 square meters. The exhibits involved industries such as machinery and equipment, CNC machine tools, vehicles and accessories, building materials, hardware tools, photovoltaic new energy, chemicals, printing and packaging, and light industrial and daily consumer goods. In order to further promote bilateral economic and trade exchanges between China and Kenya, the exhibition also set up a Kenyan export commodity exhibition area, which attracted more than 20 Kenyan specialty product export companies in the industries of flowers, coffee, black tea, handicrafts, fruits, and food to participate in the exhibition. During the exhibition, a total of 24,000 visitors from Kenya and neighboring countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Somalia were received, including 4,800 VIP buyers who were accurately invited.

(IV) Electric power and new energy: power equipment, generators, wires and cables, lighting equipment, photovoltaic power generation equipment, etc.;

(V) Environmental protection and chemical industry: environmental protection water treatment products, fertilizers, pesticides, daily chemical products, fine and special chemicals, plastic products, pharmaceutical and medical supplies, etc.;

(VI) Complete vehicles, auto parts and tires: automobiles, motorcycles, electric vehicles, new energy and related auto parts, tires and other products, etc.

VII. Registration Method                           

Exhibitors shall fill out the application form (Appendix 1) and stamp and scan it to the exhibition organizer. Exhibitors shall pay a deposit of RMB 20,000 per 9 square meters standard booth to the organizer within the notification period to ensure the confirmation of the booth.
