Exhibition Name: 2024 South Africa International Industrial Exhibition and China (South Africa) International Trade Exhibition
Location: Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg
Time: September 19-21, 2024
Organizer: Golden Bridge Expo South Africa (Pty) Ltd
Introduction of the Exhibition:
The South Africa International Industrial Exhibition and China (South Africa) International Trade Exhibition is a large-scale international exhibition held to promote Chinese enterprises to open up the African market. Relying on the advantageous resources of the local government, business associations and industry organizations in South Africa, it builds a pragmatic platform for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and South Africa and the vast African market.
The exhibition area in 2024 is more than 10,000 square meters, with 380 booths. In addition to the commodity display and business negotiation functions of traditional exhibitions, it will also adopt a new model of "exhibition in front and warehouse in back". The exhibition is equipped with a local overseas warehouse in South Africa to provide exhibitors with year-round display and overseas warehousing services. This exhibition is an important platform for enterprises to open up markets in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and surrounding African countries, display corporate products, increase export sales, and enhance brand image.
2. Market Analysis
South Africa is located at the southern tip of the African continent, with a total land area of 1.219 million square kilometers and a total population of about 60.89 million. It has a sound legal system, complete infrastructure, rich mineral resources, a complete range of manufacturing industries, and advanced technology. It is a country with a high level of industrialization in Africa. Since 2009, China has always maintained its position as a source of imports and a destination of exports to South Africa. In October 2020, the South African government announced an economic reconstruction and recovery plan, launching a series of new measures to stimulate the economy and increase employment, especially launching a number of new projects in the field of infrastructure construction, which provided an important opportunity for enterprises to enter the South African market.
South Africa is not only an important emerging economy itself, but also a bridgehead for the southern African continent and a gateway for enterprises to enter the vast African market. South Africa's radiation and influence on the African market is a source of imports for many African countries. As one of the member states of the "BRICS", "Southern African Customs Union" and "Southern African Development Community", it has further expanded its internal trade links with African countries through measures such as signing tripartite agreements with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and the East African Community and participating in the construction of the African Continental Free Trade Area. Entering South Africa will open up broad prospects for corporate products to enter the entire African market.
III. Overview of previous events
The 2nd South Africa International Industrial Exhibition and China (South Africa) International Trade Fair was successfully held at the Sandton Convention Center in Johannesburg from August 30 to September 1, 2023. The exhibition organized more than 200 Chinese companies from Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Hunan, Anhui, Xiamen and other places to participate in the overseas exhibition. At the same time, this exhibition also attracted more than 10 local South African companies to participate.
As one of the most well-known industrial exhibitions in South Africa, this exhibition lasted for three days and had ten theme exhibition areas. The exhibits covered agricultural machinery, transportation, auto parts, CNC machine tools, building materials and decoration, engineering machinery, hardware tools, power and new energy equipment and other industries, with an exhibition area of more than 5,000 square meters. During the exhibition, a total of 21,000 visitors from African countries such as South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Angola, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia came to visit and negotiate.
This exhibition aims to further tap the trade potential between China and South Africa, expand cooperation space, and better benefit the people of both countries. China has been South Africa's trading partner for 14 consecutive years, and South Africa has been China's largest trading partner in Africa for 13 consecutive years. Mutual benefit and win-win are the distinctive background of China-South Africa cooperation. This exhibition strictly follows the cooperation mechanism of the BRICS Summit. On the one hand, China's advanced new energy products and agricultural machinery products will promote the further development of South Africa's industry and improve South Africa's industrialization level; on the other hand, the Gauteng Provincial Department of Economic Development, the South African Automotive Industry Development Center, the South African Small Business Development Agency, the University of Johannesburg, the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Standard Bank of South Africa, and the South African Youth Association organized member units to set up booths on site, which is of significance to promoting the development of bilateral trade between China and South Africa.
In order to break through the barriers of supply and marketing docking in the South African market, the South African International Industrial Exhibition and the China (South Africa) International Trade Exhibition have carried out market segmentation of the exhibitors' products, created an online + offline multi-faceted media publicity matrix in South Africa, deeply explored the needs of buyers, and strived to accurately match the invitations before the exhibition, and grasped both accurate docking and offline display. It is an important platform for enterprises to open up the South African and African markets, display corporate products, increase export sales, and enhance brand image.
