China-Philippines Food and Agricultural Products Trade Market

Located in the tropics, the Philippines has rich natural resources and a unique geographical location. Its agricultural products are famous for their excellent, fresh and unique flavor. Among them, tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, banana, etc. are deeply loved by Chinese consumers for their delicious taste and rich nutritional value.

In 2023, China imported $700 million worth of fruits and products from the Philippines, accounting for 4% of China's total fruit imports and ranking fourth among all sources. The Philippines is a major source of banana imports for my country (import value of $430 million in 2023)!

China and the Philippines are geographically close, and sea transportation is convenient, which reduces the cost and time of food transportation. This enables Philippine agricultural products to quickly enter the Chinese market. In the future, the share of Philippine fruits and other agricultural products in the Chinese market is expected to continue to grow.
